Zeega Joins Industry Lab

Industry-Lab

Zeega is very excited to be a part of Boston and Cambridge’s growing coworking scene. Currently residing in Industry Lab in Inman Square, we get to work alongside a diverse group of designers,  developers, artists, engineers, and scientists.

So what is coworking? Beyond the obvious advantages of saving money on rent, co-working is truly about sharing a diverse range of insight and skills in order to produce something more amazing and larger than you could have on your own. Or as Wikipedia states:

Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.

A great example of co-working syngery in action is the recent product launch of Cuppow, a plastic lid which turns mason jars into travel mugs. Aaron Panone and Joshua Resnikoff used the many talents of their fellow Fringe members from package design and printing to naming the product.

We’ve already started to experience syngery here at Industry Lab. Recently, the team was  debating possible interface solutions for a Zeega component.  At the peak of discussion, one of our neighbors took a break from his microscope to chime in that he loves tags and prefers to be able to quickly jump around using them. He had unknowingly reached the crux of our dilemma in helping users multi-task efficiently and thus validated the “tab” idea. But that’s just the beginning of the untapped potential for collaboration.

Soon Zeega will be moving into a new co-working space we’re starting, Square by Square. It’s a storefront at 364a Broadway, right in between Central, Inman, Harvard and Kendall Squres. We plan to continue collaborating with Industry Lab members via our exhibition space and work alongside GoodGood, Warning Office and Genes SA.
